Restore

ChrisAugustA few months ago I (Penny) heard this song on the radio and I just caught a few of the words like, “Nobody’s growing old together. . .why do we bother to commit. . .” and then something about “Marriage does not have to die. . .”

At the end, the station didn’t mention the artist nor the song, but I  remember what I heard was powerful and I wanted to know more.

It turns out just a few days later a friend asked me if I had heard Chris August’s song called Restore.  “It’s about marriage,” she said. “I know you would like it!”

I told her I thought this was the song I’d heard recently and could she tell me more about it.  She emailed me some additional information.  She was right.  I did like it — a lot!  It’s a song about hope in marriage.  We could relate so well to the lyrics because it’s the hope we found to restore our marriage over 30 years ago.

We hope you will take a listen.  It’s from Chris August’s album The Upside of Down.

My friend signed off her email “Sing a new song of joy to the Lord in this day.” So we leave you with this as well.

Blessings,

Penny and David
