Is Your Marriage Growing Or Is It As Dry As Dehydrated Dust?

Heart Sand HandLast week we received a message from a couple who had attended several of MERCY’S workshops in the past.  They wanted to know if there was anything like MERCY in the Cincinnati area.  She said, “My husband and I have enjoyed all the talks/conferences/events that we have attended, but we are moving next month.  I tried ‘Google’ searching, but I am not sure what to look for exactly.   So I am just wondering if you have an inside scoop about what Cincinnati might offer.”

I did some research and sent her some links to some things she might find useful, but there wasn’t really a resource center similar to MERCY that I could find.  In response, she wrote back.  “I wish there was a marriage education resource in Cincinnati as well!  My husband and I decided a long time ago that the key to creating a long, successful, and happy relationship and marriage was to continuously learn and invest in us as a couple.  I am a nurse, so I think of it  as ‘preventive care.’  Just as we get yearly physicals to benefit our health, reading books and articles on marriage, attending marriage conferences/talks/events and keeping the conversation going between us benefits our marriage and keeps our relationship healthy.”

This is one wise couple.  And we couldn’t agree with them more.  In fact, that’s one of the reasons we started a resource center in our area. We know the difference it can make. How about you?  Are you intentionally investing in your marriage or is it beginning to wither?  A little watering can make a world of difference.  Therefore, won’t you join us for our next workshop on August 24 called Marriage Anchors with James Robert Ross, Ph.D. Or, check out the other marriage events in our area on this web site.

Grace and peace,

Penny and David
